Is this vent considered an ‘air gap’? There were 2 dishwashers in this kitchen and no air gap at the countertop.

Those vents in 2006 were not approved in all states, check with your local AHJ.

Thanks for the replies. I know what an air gap for a dishwasher is when mounted on the countertop.
I hadn’t seen an AAV mounted in a home before, just pictures.
