Since the ChoicePoint hacking incident in February of this year there have been over 90 reported hacking and theft incidents affecting various personal information files, databases, etc. (see http://www.privacyrights.org/ar/ChronDataBreaches.htm ), resulting in over 51.7 million compromised records.


Many are not even aware of the myriad of databases and collection points for personal information that are currently maintained. For more information see:

I know!! Unbelievable!!


What is more unbelievable is that personal files are being allowed on laptops, or desktops for that matter. There were a number of "Stolen laptop" and "Stolen Computer" incidents.
