I used to see similar construction up in New Jersey. It was mostly at the large lakes where New Yorkers would come out for healthy fresh air for the summers. It almost looks like one of the old Sears houses that was originally sold from the catalog and delivered in pieces. Most people ignored structural issues and continue to add on an enclosed porch, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. i’ve seen where they open the front of the house; front door, picture window with two double hung windows on either side, yet to enlarge the living room. All without the use of a suitable header. They are horrible, from a structural standpoint.
