Carl is right, a kick out diverter is just 1 component of the building envelope.
Building a home is a joint effert ( slow assembly line) of many trades. Flashing is the gasket that seals the exterior claddings. You wouldn’t put a 4 barrel holley on a small block engine without the gasket. It will work for a short time, but you get more power and performance with the gasket.
