Laars boiler in crawlspace

A Laars boiler, model number JVH125NCSI with serial number D02JE0149, was installed in a crawlspace. This unit runs year round, as it provides for heat for the home and the 60 gallon indirect water storage tank. Instead of venting the B-vent flue exhaust pipe through the roof line, it was vented to the exterior rear of the home and terminated between the joists on a grade level composite deck. A screen was installed over the vent pipe. This appears to me as a safety issue. Any comments would be appreciated.

It appears you’re right… has to vent like a regular “chimney”, up above the roof line.

Yes I would say its a safety issue co2 will settle in crawl space and it looks like the screen is changing colors from the heat
