Personal Residential Wind-Only (PR-W):

**Fiber-Cement Construction Classification **
IE #004-11 – January 31, 2011

The personal residential wind-only (PR-W) manuals (excluding mobile homes) have been amended to include fiber-cement siding (for example, HardiPlank®) with other veneer products. The definition for frame construction now reads:

FRAME: buildings where the exterior walls are of wood or other combustible materials including combinations with other materials such as brick veneer, stone veneer, fiber cement (e.g., hardiplank) and stucco on wood. The wood frame is relied upon for structural stability.

This change is effective February 1, 2011.

My understanding of this message from the 6 seconds I spent reading it one time is —> a framed wall with hardiboard/hardyplank is still a framed wall?

funny thats what I got out of it.
