List of States allowing dishwasher air gap

I can’t talk about it.

Colorado has adopted the 2000 UPC with this addendum:

Section 807.4
Addition of a New Section 807.4(a)
No domestic dishwashing machine shall be directly connected to a drainage system or food waste
disposer without the use of an approved dishwasher airgap fitting on the discharge side of the
dishwashing machine. Listed airgaps shall be installed with the flood level (FL) marking at or above the
flood level of the sink or drainboard, whichever is higher, or separately trapped with the airgap located on
the stand pipe.

FWIW, new construction here always has a separate drain and P-trap for the DW, I rarely see the chrome Air Gap fixtures that go through the countertop or sink (above the sink rim) no matter what the installation date - and only about 33% of the time do I see a “High Loop” installed before being attached to the disposal. If it doesn’t have a High Loop, I recommend one and include a diagram in my report - I don’t ever call for an air gap because they are messy and cheap looking, so sue me

Got Logo??

Because every good scam, um benefit, needs a great logo.
