low temp when testing heat

Today I inspected a 3 year old Comfortmaker furnace, the intake was 70 degrees and the heated air out the registers was 80-82 as per a laser thermometer. The thermostat was set to 80. I am used to seeing about 90-110 or so in most cases. Is there a problem with this furnace and 80 degree heated air? Thanks in advance.

80 degree air would not be satisfactory on a gas fired furnace. Are you sure your burner was actually firing at the time you checked the temperature. I also have a laser thermometer and know they can give false readings. When I get a squirrely reading on the laser I always verify with a hand held thermometer. If the burner was cycling on and off on a safety you could get a lower than normal temp.

Don’t argue with an idiot someone watching may not be able to tell the difference.
