A wee bit toasty!!
What was the load on it?
The house was empty so the only real load was the heat pump running. The temp was not that significant then but once someone moved in I could only imagine. Either way it needs fixin!
Just caulk it
You needed IR to find that? Getting lazy, old man!
Better yet, just turn the thermostat down ;-).
I hope not…it just looks prettier.
Oddly enough this is the first time I have found a burnt wire that was actually hot.
I either find them burnt and there is no temp difference, or I find them hot but no signs of schorched sheathing.
Go figure. Its not that I found the burnt wire but the fact that the image confirms that it is an active issue.
This panel was at least 30 years old. A lot can happen in 30 years.
That’s right, so if it happened 30 years ago when new, has it now stood the test of time, therefore no more worries???:roll::twisted::mrgreen:
Good luck with that… I think I will call it out.
