Nice! In Seattle the majority of the decks I inspect are incorrect in some form or another. Being able to save them is great if it’s possible. Much cheaper for the client.
Look at the height and wonder why he does everything but replace with the proper 6x6 posts and a beam. If you are going to make changes under the guise of a safe installation and then write about it, try doing it right. :roll:

Thank you. I found it in the 2015 IRC at R3117.8.2 Ends either have to be returned or terminate in the newel posts.
