And many of them do “home checks” for prospective home buyers. I ran into a company owned by agents who do radon testing with “electronic” equipment.

“Gee, you do not have to hire a home inspector. There are some other agents in our office who know about home repair, and can check those things for you. I have a roofer, a plumber, and a electrician who do free inspections. I have some termite guys who will do termite inspections for free. Save your money for the down payment”.

These services are even advertised here on radio and TV.

Rumors are abounding that HI laws will be introduced in both states next January or February. They are pushing REA’s to use ASHI inspectors, so the inspectors can contribute to their lobbyists and special interests.

Frankly, I cannot wait to voice my opinions. Governor Brownback listened in Kansas, and got the laws out. We will see.
