Mold Inspection Pricing

It is never nothing in my opinion, however the scope of the response my vary.

  1. The area needs to be treated.
  2. The source of moisture needs to be identified and corrected.
  3. Mold is never safe for all persons, however some is worse than others.
  4. Mold sampling is not what it is talked up to be.

in this case is was residual and nothing. they paid 20k to have it remediated and i think 25k for the roof leak that caused it. i’m just repairing the damage inside. since it was inside a school, and the one my daughter attends, i took a sample and had it tested. it was nothing. if it doesn’t reappear, it is confirmed to be nothing and has been remediated, if not, servepro comes back and does it right this time. thanx for the link, good info in there.

I think like most services your locale should drive your pricing. I know in Miami a 3 sample test runs $450 with $125 for each additional sample. That wouldn’t fly where I’m at where the cost of living is lower with less disposable income. Remember Miami is a place where the billionaires and pushing out the millionaires, lol.

Another less talked about factor is how easy the report is too understand for the client, and how long your Q&A takes with the client. I know on the commercial side of the house, I’ve seen some pretty complicated stuff, where I felt like I needed a specialized degree to decern what the report was trying to tell me. I even had degrees in a related field- but even then at times I was scratching my head. I was one of the first patch of students to take EPA/HUD course back in the day when they FINALLY combined their curriculum. Asbestos results by comparison we’re pretty cut and dry, present/ not present, location, type, condition, friable or not.
