More roof shape fun.

What would you do or say about this carport. Count a non hip feature or not?
It is the only picture I have. There is a client that wants more than just my opinion so please give all the opinions you can. Have fun.

Sorry bout the size I did not know it was so big

Does not appear to be over enclosed space and the roof is not attached to the main roof structure - Does not count in the geometry calculation.

I won’t answer until you pay me up front in cash only…

Dom.

(Michael J. Meeker, CMI) #4

Neither would I but this info is not for me. Not even a paying client. Just curious one

(Sean Fogarty) #5

your picture doesn’t provide enough info. Since its a wood framed home, many carports like this one are directly tied into the framing of the home. Only looking under the carport would tell, but the shed roof has to attach somehow. Unless there is a board nailed to the siding, which holds up the carport (which I doubt) then I would consider that part of the total calculation.

BTW did you pet the kitty???

(Shawn D. Staggs, CPI) #7

Just noticed that:p Looking at the roof shape, need more info. Looks like the carport is tied into the framing. Cant tell if the back portion is attached???

For the record once again not my job or client nor did I take the picture. Person is just looking for opinions based on that photo. I posted as a favor so they could get their opinions.

I got no dog in this fight.

(Sean Fogarty) #10

so i guess you didn’t pet the kitty then?

(Michael J. Meeker, CMI) #11

I didn’t even see it in the picture

(Michael J. Meeker, CMI) #12

Now I do. I would have if it came up to me
