I bought the “cheap” drone a few hours ago $62.00 shipping included.
For $62 I can see how it works out for me as I think walking roofs is not the smartest way to spend time when your over 60. As the OP suggested, try the “toy” drone and see how you like it.
Walked a roof last week and yes you can see more than from a ladder but I think a painters pole is the smart way to go and plan on getting the 30’ one I saw for a couple of hundred.
I am in a small group of inspectors that doesn’t think roof walking is needed.
