These are great to create flyers and booklets from but it would be great to see them available in editable Word format to make things easier.

In html it takes some time to copy and paste the text into Word and then save and add back the images. I can paste it in to Word preserving most of the formatting but the images don't paste in with it so I have to save them and put them back in.

If we had a location where members could upload Word (and PDF) Documents to share with others I am sure that some of us could convert and reformat these into workable documents so they are available to members. I would like to see a library of Word Docs that members could draw from in creating flyers and other marketing materials.

Maybe someone could setup a section similar to the Photo Gallery, except for documents (members only).

I would be happy to format some of these into printable docs if we had a location to upload them for everyone's use.

David, I’m having no trouble copying the text and the photos and pasting them directly to a formatted Word template in one operation. I might move the photos around a little bit to suit my taste and my template has my company name and contact info on it. I just Save and it’s done. What are we doing differently?

I don't know. I select everything including images and when I paste it in Word the images don't come with. Even when I paste the html formatting. I still have Word 2000.

Yeah me too. Are you following the instructions as originally defined early in the post?. I start at the end of the html document, drag and click up to the heading, then hit Control-C to copy, minimize my NACHI MB screen, open Word, open a new document using my template, then Control-V to paste. Everything’s there then including the photos, like I said I may move the photos around a little and redefine the page breaks so that it breaks at a logical spot like a new paragraph heading then that’s it. I do run the spell checker to correct the slew of misspelled words and then I save it under a name I like. I then print it to a .pdf file for sharing or whatever.

OK fine. If I first save the page locally (web page complete) and reopen the local copy I can then copy and paste everything.

Now if someone could create a place to post these I could use some of my layout skills and upload some ready print ready with room for logos, etc.

I would put some on my own server but I think it might be a bit overwhelmed.

David:

After Lisa is done building them all and Christine is done proofing them all, we'll build an index of them and each one will give both html and pdf download options.

Then Chris M. will start inserting them into our consumer sites.

Then we'll start marketing our consumer sites to compete with all the .gov 's.

Here is another use for these pages… to bulk out your website with pre-built content which positions you as an expert in the field but more importantly helps your site get to the top of search engines.

Here is an example of a new site using some of this pre-built content:

Why don’t we get one

Called NACHI members E and O Insurance Company .

That has a very nice ring to it . Any chance of this happening soon.

This could make NACHI so well known with home inspectors every where instantly

Nick,

These are great! Lisa did a really nice job with the content and the graphics for these articles.

Thank you for making these available for all NACHI members to use on their web sites - I have already incorporated several of these pages into the core content that every NACHI member gets when they order their web site through www.homeinspectionwebsite.com.

Can we get (have) these indexed in one central location (link) as not to have to go through the message board and find them?

Thanks,

Peter
