NACHI is pleased to announce the formation of a nationwide network of participating attorneys to assist NACHI members with their home inspection businesses. These attorneys will provide a one-hour consultation to NACHI members for a reduced fee of $50.00 with additional consultations at 80% of their normal hourly rates.

The participating attorneys will have the benefit of NACHI-provided licensing and state regulation information, appellate court decisions, NACHI summaries of related cases, expert witnesses and co-counsel.

NACHI will screen the attorneys for experience, competence, ethics and errors and omissions insurance. Details forthcoming. In the meantime, members are encouraged to recommend any attorneys that they believe would pass muster by emailing NACHI their contact information at fastreply@nachi.org.

Joe, It is amazing how a thread can degenerate into nothing. On my question about arsenic in the water, it turns out that it was a known problem in the area because of the testing required by the state for new wells. This particular owner thought he had solved the problem and was surprised when it came out with a high reading. He had a previous reading that was within limits after his “fix” a few years before.

Thanks for your help and council

, click Legal, and then scroll down to the summaries of cases and defenses.

These analyses are going to be very valuable to any attorney defending an inspector.

I love it thanks NICK .
Is this open to all?
I wonder should it be only for NACHI members and their Lawyers or open for all Inspectors?

Roy, I think you are probably right. The summaries are costing us over $1K a piece and ruling rendering monitoring and summaries of those cases are pricey too.

It really helps an inspector's attorney in terms of research and analyses though. A member who gets sued can go to one of our participating attorneys and be assured of a competent, vigorous defense already formulated to an extent.

This will be another very valuable membership benefit... so maybe you are right.
