New Construction Inspections?

Maybe one of you can give me some advice…

I'm looking at hiring someone to do new construction inspections. Can anyone give me an idea about this market?? Training needed, who to market to, etc.?? (I'm under the impression that our main market base would be lending institutions that want a third party to make sure codes are being properly followed by the builder..)

Lending institutions are generally not interested in codes. They want to insure that their investment is intact and the work is progressing and being completed (draw inspections).

The bulk of the opportunity is working for home buyers or for the builders themselves doing QC on phases. My opinion.

I agree with John. I perform quite a few of these types of inspections. All of my clients are private home buyers who want me to watch their house be constructed. Although I have marketed to lenders, I have yet to book one inspection from them.
