This morning, the U.S. Commerce Department said that new home sales rose 4.5% in March, to a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 692,000 homes, above February’s revised rate of 662,000 units. According to consensus forecasts, economists were expecting to sales of around 647,000 units.
The report said that annually, new home sales are up 3%. New home sales are at their highest level since April 2018.
