Hi everyone, I’m working through the “How to Perform Roof Inspections” course and wanted to share what I found doing a practice inspection from the ground.
The roof was 3-tab asphalt composition shingle with an open valley. I noticed curling across nearly the entire roof, two shingles missing, and what I think might be hail damage. There was also a good amount of debris built up in the valley and gutters, and the seals on both plumbing stack boots were cracked.
For those with more experience — does what I’m describing sound consistent with hail damage, or could curling from age/weathering look similar to a beginner? Appreciate any pointers as I keep learning.
What you’re showing and describing has nothing to do with hail damage. Also that is not “curling”. Those are just worn shingles near the end of their life.
Curling is when the corners lift/curl up. Like these photos show.
