Hello! I’m from Southwest Virginia, and I’m excited to start my home inspection training. I began the online class earlier this week and am eager to pursue this career path.
Could anyone offer guidance on where to focus during the initial stages of the course? I’d appreciate advice on how to effectively navigate the material and make the most of my training.
Welcome Shawn and get a tough skin on replies from some of the members here. First, just check your post for proper punctuation. I know it seems “lame”, but you should need to post in the same manner that you would write a report. Take a look at your first two post and decide if that is how you would write in your report.
Second, you should have a guide to see through all the courses to achieve your goal.
The order you complete the courses is not important, but I found it useful to start with the Standards of Practice Course that will provide you with an overview of everything that is included in a home inspection.
I will second Thomas’s reply to you. A broadly-scoped, grammatically-challenged, generalized “help me” question is not going to win you friends on this forum. Well-thought-out, researched, grammatically-correct, direct questions using precise language (with applicable pictures) about a narrow subject matter will generate mostly-friendly direct and informative responses that will get you the answers you need. You can learn a ton from inspectors that have decades of experience on this forum, but many do not entertain lazy or sloppy questions.
Appreciate the welcome and feedback! As a Nurse accustomed to precise reporting, I’ve polished my posts
After long shifts, I seek a relaxed community focused on growth. All the political discussion aside, I’m excited to transition into a New field and would love expert advice on courses and career navigation.
Thanks, Brain and Thomas for the advice! I’ll make sure to finish the Standards of Practice Course and Next time when asking a question I will make sure my questions are clear
and thank you to again.
