No, 150 yr olds are not getting social security

How do you know they are not being paid if there is no death certificate? Because they are 110? What if they are 88 and died when they were 68? How would you know to stop paying them?

My mother is 84 and I have access to all her banking. What is stopping me from collecting?

And he says it is too expensive to collect death certificates? Could you not secure a death certificate for the same cost or less of one SS payment?

This guy…

Watch the video and then pass judgement Mannie. This guy doesn’t give any president a pass including Biden, Obama, both Bush’s and Bill.

He’s not talking about 68 or 88 year olds. He admits that there is some fraud that needs to be addressed. He actually offers some constructive criticism for Musk.

He’s talking about the sensationalized reports that people “as old as the constitution” are getting benefits and the regurgitated report from 2015 that millions of 112 year olds are getting benefits. Those reports simply aren’t true.

The fact that 150 year olds are still in the system isn’t proof that dead 88 year olds are getting benefits or the fact that a dead 68 year old could be getting benefits is proof that 150 year old is.

Nor is it proof they are not. He no longer works there. And then he said getting death certs is too expensive. He is a joke. He is part of the problem because he is only speculating and his political bias is incredibly evident in the way he presents his position.

Like I said, he’s not giving any president a pass, Republican or Democrat. You’re the one with the bias because it doesn’t fit with the narrative that you’re being fed.

I see that. I know I want D.O.G.E to be successful. And I am happy with some imperfection as the process is refined.

And when I see a credible source that tells me the disrupter is too disrupting, then I will reverse course. That has not happened yet. So far I have Schumer shaking avocadoes and beer and AOC telling me they are all stupid along with about a million pundits attempting to change public opinion.

It is all noise at this point. Nothing more than babies crying and anti-Trump boo-hoos.

To what end? To eliminate fraud and waste or to discredit agencies for wholesale dismantling?

Both if needed.

I don’t think I want this guy touching my computer.

I don’t watch hour+ long videos with people blowing shit out of their ears. No matter what that person stated your thread title is deceptive at best. At no time did Musk state for a fact that there are people definitively collecting SS benefits in the age bracket he was discussing. Even Musk stated he needs access to various payment systems to see if any of those people are getting paid.

As for SS Benefit fraud there is NO DOUBT in my mind it is occurring! That is where DOGE comes into play and they will find the fraud.

MAGA could use more critical thinkers like yourself. The presence of the released data doesn’t mean squat on its own. Unfortunately, many have taken it as the smoking gun that justifies their conspiracy thoughts.

The real question is whether Musk will uncover any more payment errors than the legal auditors already have. If he only uncovers the same number of errors (estimated to be under 1% of total payments), than all this chest puffing and illegal action is for nothing.

Largely, one in the same.

I think Musk is first and foremost alarmed and calling attention to the terrible recordkeeping and accounting practices. The guy in the video, a past SSA Administrator type, admits that there is huge fraud going on, just not with dead people getting checks, although he admits there is a fair amount of that too. The big ticket fraud, which I whole-heartedly agree with, is those collecting disability. I am hoping that Trump comes up with an efficient way to wean the millions of people that are capable of working off the government largess.

Approximately 700,000 monthly payments in error is a good find IMO. Do you have a resistance to correcting these errors?
