Yep, flood waters will do that to a hardwood floor, and sometime humidity alone can ruin them too. To a lesser degree, though.

In this case, roof leaks. I have seen some buckling, but this was a fun house

That must have been a major roof leak with the likes of that floor.

There were at least 3 of these around the perimeter of the court.
That looks like a Tectum ceiling. If it is it falls apart like shredded wheat when wet. Major repair in and out of that gym.

Amazing how much wood will swell when wet. A major design asset in wooden shipbuilding!
