No t&p valve????

Found this in a 1965 home. There was no T&P valve. I removed the metal top and there was a threaded insert. It did not have a plug so I would imagine if you were to install a T&P you would valve to open the hole. The unit is oil fired. No recent cleaning history. I told the buyer it was a time bomb. Is anyone familiar with this make and model tank? Did I miss something?? The unit is a John Wood WHP30 NO. FA50345

That PB compression pipe fitting will blow if things go wrong!

No need to run too fast!

Seriously though, a relief valve can be installed in the piping if the tank is too old to get the plug out.

“Time bomb”? Not very good verbiage! Just stick with the facts. That is more than sufficient.
