Here are NY State Revised web sites for Home Inspectors- They are as follows: (general and specific sites to watch!)
http://www.dos.state.ny.us/ -main site
http://www.dos.state.ny.us/lcns/licensing.html -licensing site
http://www.dos.state.ny.us/lcns/homeinspector.htm -home inspector site
http://www.dos.state.ny.us/lcns/contact.htm -contact info for licensing
http://www.dos.state.ny.us/lcns/listoflncs.htm -list of licenses web links
Th above links are for New York State Home Inspectors who wish to keep up-to-date regarding Licensing for Home Inspectors. To date there is no license, no application, no registration process, but the state will take your name and address and send you an application once it is created and distributed. These links may change but are current as of 10-10-05.
Hope this keeps Home Inspectors up to date. These links can be accessed daily to see if there is any good news, or any news at all regarding Licensing for Home Inspectors in New York State.
FYI- No test has been certified to date nor scheduled for implementation at the present time. We must wait and see when the state will permit those who are attempting to qualify under the 100 inspection Grandfathering clause to actually take the state test. These links will keep you informed when an application and test is made available to the public.
