One good thing about releasing that arms dealer

I wish that was true, but NFW!

That would be akin to Republicans not discussing same-sex marriages after getting caught diddling their aides and visiting glory holes.

Not gonna happen.

The day Democrats stop arguing for more gun control will be the day that Republicans stop sending thoughts and prayers to the vitcims of gun violence while stuffing their pockets with money from the gun lobby/manufacturers.

Probably not gonna happen anytime soon.

Simple really. Gun control is a steady hand and a sharp mind.

I hear ya Larry, unfortunatly, many who can easily purchase a firearm don’t fit that description.

Exposing hypocrisy is amusing but futile. The establishment power brokers on either side could care less about our rights…these issues are merely political smoke screens.

Politicians stand behind what is good for their best interest, which in the end is money and power. They do not care if they get caught exposing their empty virtue signaling anymore. Because they know this virtue signaling is what the masses use to pick their sides.

There are three types of gun owners. #1 Those who were taught to respect the weapon and use it for sporting or self defense. #2 Those who see the weapon as a tool for chaos, theft and brutality. #3 Those who are mentally ill and see violence as a reasonable solution to their problems.

I see many policies on both sides of the isle which contribute to problems #2 and #3. Violence is the problem, the weapon of choice is a symptom.

Why should gun manufacturers have to lobby at all? They make the only Constitutionally-protected product in America and one that saves 8,200 lives a day. Yes, I said a day (according to Obama’s 2012 study).

If they didn’t lobby, do you honestly think they’d have politicians in their pocket?

As is the case with most everything else, just follow the money.

The manufactures’ “lobby” by making donations to the guns “rights” organizations and not to the lobbyist themselves. The money is funneled down through the NRA, GOA, NAGR,etc, by “contributions” then passed on to their lobbyist. Never a direct lobby contributions by the manufacture. Keep in mind, that is the way it’s with all corporations trying to buy politicians…

Donald Trump Freeing 5,000 Taliban Members Compared to Biden Griner Deal

We shouldn’t have had even one Taliban prisoner. It’s not illegal or wrong for a man to defend his nation from foreign, armed invaders. It’s actually his honorable duty to. Those are patriots we imprisoned. Of course we should free them, should have never taken them on their own soil. That was dishonorable.

Here is what we should do. We should go back to what the Romans did. In the Bible there are stories of Paul having immunity everywhere he went. Why? Because he was a Roman citizen. Not someone who paid to be Roman citizen (a lower state of citizenship) but rather he was born in Rome. Now back then, if anyone touched a hair on the head of a Roman citizen, the Roman army would immediately come out and it wouldn’t be pretty. This is the reputation the U.S. should build by doing similarly for U.S. citizens. You touch a U.S. citizen… you die.

Where do politics fit in with home inspection, disappointing. Not happy if this forum turns into a political base.

Thank! Brian…you put it a real simple terms.

Gun control is necessary hand by hand with keeping an eye on those nut-cases that don’t know how to vent their inner frustrations as well as the other group that have no clue what is a fire arm for, the dangers that represents in the hands of the wrong individual and the original true intention for what they were designed for.

But the worst group is that of those that really believe that this is a simple Democrats vs Republicans political issue and use this Home Inspection platform to vent their political misunderstandings.

More information regarding our industry than politics. Read what you want to, ignore the rest. It’s not going to change anytime soon, if ever. Btw- I too would prefer political topics be confined to certain areas, but it ain’t going to happen.

Politics has everything to do with small business. From regulations, to the economy, to interest rates, to taxes, etc. Technically, if you wanted a forum that only has to do with the inspection business… it would be 98% politics. Look at the housing market right now. Was that caused by a lighting strike? The planets aligning? No, it was caused by governmental policies put forth by politicians. If your state adopted home inspector licensing or didn’t, that decision was made by politicians. Right down to the amount of insurance you must carry to do an inspection, those decisions are all politically-decided. Even the statute of limitations to file a suit against an inspector is decided by politicians. Historically, the main purpose of trade associations like InterNACHI or NAR is to lobby politicians. NAR spends $30 million a year lobbying for things like keeping the home mortgage deduction. InterNACHI deals with politicians in 60 countries. We’ve even successfully sued three sitting governors to protect the inspection industry. Politics and the inspection industry aren’t just connected… they are intertwined.

That said, InterNACHI does a lot of stuff that has no connection to politics. See What's New in the Inspection Industry - InterNACHI® and scroll down.

Not all things are binary, I agree. Gun control, for the most part, is. It’s almost a perfect D vs R issue.
