Outlet Wiring

I had a general question that I am stuggling to find information on.

I went to change a standard 3 prong outlet / receptacle in my house. It is located in a 4" x 2" x 2 1/2" deep plastic receptacle box. My house has copper wire…looks to be #14 or 12# gage.

I noticed it has 3 sets of wires (so 3 hot, 3 neutral and 3 ground) connected to it.

Is this set-up okay?

You might try a local hardware type or building center store.

They have DIY training often available.
