Palin Out in Less than 48 Hours

What would the right wing media report if this was Obama’s daughter? To his credit, Obama has stated “A person’s family should be totally off limits, and has no place in this presidential election.”

While life does happen, it is best not to rush to judgement in the wake of this latest revelation concerning Sarah’s family. With all the strange weather patterns, the pervasive war in the middle east, genocide in Darfur, rising costs of food & energy, and domestic economic uncertainty… this limp-dick news hardly qualifies as newsworthy.

IMO…Thick skinned Sarah will hopefully get used to the nosey-as$ public spying on her and her families wrongdoings and being in the limelight. In the long run…She’ll make it. I have faith.

How so, either Romney or Lieberman would be a better choice and and create a much more electable team.

Lieberman would drive much of the conservative base away! And which voters would Romney possibly energize other than Michigan and whatever state he was governor of? Besides, do you think we are naive enough to believe that you Obamamites wouldn’t be digging relentlessly for dirt on these fellas? Heck, muuuuuuch better dirt immediately pops up in my mind on Romney and Lieberman than this petty, non-issue crap you dish out on Palin. It is sad that you Obamamites are in denial about getting owned with this VP selection.

Americans forget very quickly and November is far away, now if this were October already you Repugs would be toast for sure. Timing is everything.
If you say so … :sarcasm:

If Palin stubbornly remains the VP choice with the incessant barrage of negative media coverage she is bound to receive throughout the rest of the election process, what chance does the McCain/Palin ticket really have?

How will the Republicans be able to get their message out if they constantly have to stop to field questions concerning Pailn’s past, family and ability to lead? Sarah can we get to know & trust you in the little time left? Doubtful, Romney & Lieberman are already known quantities, this poor choice in a running mate will haunt McCain till November and end up becoming his Achilles heel.
Quite a petty strategy by the DNC to stave of defeat. Keep it up, it can’t be long before the majority of swing voters see that the DNC is as heartless as they attempt to portray the GOP to scam voters to their side. Another chance to defeat the GOP is swandered …

Bob claims to be a Libertarian. My guess is that he means Libertarian Socialist

Sarah Pallin’s daughter is knocked up. So what.

Troopergate is in progress. So what. Let’s see where it goes.

No one is smashing Biden. He’s been an a-hole for years. A do-nothng, plagerizing, scumbag insider. His running mate has never been in a position where an executive decision was made. NEVER ONCE.

Obama is a political hack. His qualifications include being a communitity organizer. Will someone please tell me how that qualifies him to lead the US? The remainder of his career has been running for political office. Look at his voting record at either the state or federal level. A big zero.

Look at Biden.

Will PAllin pull out of the ticket? I dont know. I do think its a damned shame, however, that those with a bent against the Republican candidates and party have shown their true colors. Most arent interested issues that affect all of us. The mantra is to rake as much muck as possible.

Skirt the issues, folks. Its what you seem to do best.

I watched LArry King last evening. Disgraceful at best. Absolutely disgraceful.

I cant say what will hapen. I dont even know if I’ll vote for McCain. I do hope that there is an anti Obama backlash over this.

If there is, I’ll be laughing my *** off.

I’ll be laughing because America will have likely made their decision as a result of this nonsense, rather than looking at the actual candidates.

“Yon Democrats doth protest too much!” ( with apologies to Will S.)

Don’t forget to chastise all of the Republicans, such as myself, who also oppose the thought of a McCain Presidency.

Democrats are not the only people to think that McCain is a bad choice.

I love the way the Dems keep shooting their toes off. First by alienating everyone over the age of 50, second, anyone with morals, and now anyone who had a child out of wedlock, and their parents also, and don’t forget Housewives!

Jim,

There’s no doubt that many Republcans are less than enthusiastic over this ticket and the state of the Union.

But, the problem runs much deeper than the Presidency. It sits with the Cngress and Senate, as well. We’ve had a Democtat legislature for around 2 years now. What has been accomplished in that time? Pretty much nothing. That bogus banking law which was just passed was crafted and pushed with those with agendas. It all sucks.

So, we have both sides lining up. All the nonsensical issues are brought to light. Roe v. Wade? Who cares? Troopergate?

Nero fiddles while Rome burns. Re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

I wish folks would look at the two piles of crap and decide which one will make the best fertilizer for this country. Kind of a harsh analogy, I know.

Neither ticket is a good one. Like I said, I dont know who I’ll vote for. Yet all I have been hearing since the VP announcement is a non-stop slam against this woman from all the left-wing blogs. Drown out any hpes of discovering what she or any of the candidate stands for.

I say its time to remove the sound bites and snippets, and get to the issues. ALL the candidates need to do this.

Joe F.,

The last thing they want to talk about is real issues.

Obama is somewhere between weak and dangerous on the issues while McCain is somewhere between OK and wrongheaded.

Repeated calls have been made to talk about the issues here since the Palin announcement but to no avail.

Instead we are treated to attacks on Palin and McCain including made up stories and very old news. They furiously search for dirt to make themselves feel better about their candidate who as the story says “has no clothes”

Both candidates have fundemental problems with large portions of the electorate and it has become very difficult to have a discussion about what divides opinion in this country.

I wonder why.

Bob E.
I do not believe the comment about Sarah’s parenting skills is fair or needed. If you have a daughter and she became pregnant, do you also have poor parenting skills? I think not. As the candidates and others on this post have mentioned, her family and any candidates family is off limits, period! Let’s stick to the facts about the candidate and make our decisions on the true information we know.

WOW!

Looks like the New York Times is trying to help you out Joey.

3 front page stories on Palin’s family

Story 1

Story 2

Story 3

How the one time “paper of record” “The Grey Lady” has fallen.

Now it trying to affect an election by trashing someones family on PAGE 1.:(:(:(:frowning:

Mike…Are you becoming a hypocrite, all of the sudden?

Where was your objection when the “Soccer Mom” paraded out her family for the media to see and photograph in an attempt to portray herself as a conservative, religious mother, wife and Governor?

She is the one to introduce her family to the public…does the public not have a right to look beyond the Norman Rockwell portrait she tried to present?

When she portrayed herself as the successful wife and mom…she left out her husband’s DWI, her daughter’s pregnancy, and a few other details that … while not all that uncommon among American families…certainly does not set her as any kind of successful role model.

When the Republicans were making fun of the bucktoothed homeliness of Chelsea Clinton (and we did, on many occassions) we felt no remorse when the Democrats called that out of line.

No, Sad to say, I’ve been a hypocrite most of my life - and you?

I’m not OK with the media using one’s family members to ruin a candidate. Apparently you have been in the past and are willing to now. :frowning:

And before you post regarding my posts on Obama’s half brother, that was a demonstration of Obama’s hypocrisy on being his brother’s keeper which Obama actually stated.

James you’re making it up. Perhaps it’s a case of transference.

Are you okay with a Candidate parading out his family, kissing his wife, rubbing the hair on the top of his son’s head, pretending to be the all-American Dad (or Mom)?

If not, why did you not object when she did it?

If you are okay with it, do you think the world has an obligation to swallow the photo-op at face value, or are we entitled to see what lies beneath the smiles, hugs and kisses?

Additionally, the VPILF is on the record as being against sex education in schools. She believes that the national policy should be to teach abstinence.

Is it not clear to you, as it is to the rest of the country, that the policies she endorses for a nation have failed in her own home? What does this have to say regarding her abilities as a leader and her judgment?

I think that, in these terms, the pregnancy of her daughter is directly related to her positions as a candidate and is not an invasion of privacy.

It would be no different than if she were a hardliner against economic relations with Cuba and smoked Cuban cigars in her home.

(Not to even mention the possibility of her membership with the NRA being related to the pending “shotgun” wedding.)

When have you ever know a politician who avoids photos ops?

That is certainly less that remarkable.

The savaging of Sarah Palin by left wing bloggers, nervous Obamites, and now the NYT, along with the Democratic leadership means there is probably very little of substance with which to make a case against her.

This has effectively put Obama’s qualifications his associations and his lack of experience on the table.

Geez Joe for petes sake!:frowning:

Now you’re just being silly. I have come to expect much more from you.:frowning:

No matter what your take is on the VPILF and her pregnant baby…John McCain screwed up.

Today is the second day of the Republican convention when the Republican party is supposed to be putting forth and selling its agenda to the nation…and no one is listening.

Instead…it is the nasty little tid-bits about the VPILF that is hitting the airwaves…in between reports of the damage from the hurricane.

McCain is a POW again, but this time he is imprisoned by his own inabilities to conduct a proper campaign.

You think he would have learned something since his last failure of eight years ago.

Very sad Jim.

Things are often not as they appear or how you imagine them.
