Pending home sales continue uptrend.

Pending home sales improved further in December 2010, marking the 5th gain in the past 6 months, according to the National Association of REALTORs.

The Pending Home Sales Index, a forward-looking indicator, increased 2.0% to 93.7 based on contracts signed in December. The data reflects contracts and not closings, which normally occur with a lag time of one or two months.

Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist for NAR, credits good affordability conditions and economic improvement.

Hey if it’s true, and continues it is a start for sure. Come on 2011 let the good times roll…

I have not seen this in central Florida, foreclosures continue to increase, and with the space shuttle closing down in Brevard county, more people are going to lose their homes over there as well.

The market has to balance. If people are losing their homes because of NASA, they have to lose them to buyers. The inventory can’t just sit.

I would think that the shuttle shutting down would please you Aubrey, being their Government funded jobs.
