I wonder if this indictment is payback for criticizing the Biden administration for not helping NY with the migrant crises. I noticed that the residents of the Hamptons (Obama and company) were much more strategic in their rejection of the migrants.

Adams, a Democrat, faces conspiracy, wire fraud and bribery charges in a five-count indictment outlining a decade-long trail of corruption that began when he served as an elected official in Brooklyn and continued through his mayoral administration.

This has been a funny story… absolutely ZERO details other than, “charges have been filed,” for several days. I just assumed he was being protected by the mainstream media and/or current administration.
I get liking your team but can people on the left really not see the different treatment from media, etc.? Had this been Trump or ANY red leaning politician we’d have had detailed charges, speculation and story after story from judge, jury and executioner within hours of the charges. Something against a Democrat? For the love of god… let’s drag it out until Friday afternoon so it can get lost in the weekend news cycle.

I saw some articles that he’s being accused of campaign contribution violations by taking money from Turkish interests. The details of why Turks want something in NYC wasn’t super clear.
It’s also beneficial to wait until a natural disaster (Hurricane) can suck some of the air out of the room.
That said, he’s out of favor by the media and elites because he’s complaining that they are sending 10,000 “migrants” to NYC every month. “We gonna lose our city” <–direct quote as spelled.
He’s also had something like half a dozen of his nepotism/crony hires bail out in the last week or so. His goose is cooked and while he may not go to jail or even get much of a fine, his political power dropped to zero and he won’t get re-elected.
Everyone that knew him from his NYPD days says he was constantly filing race suits, complaints, you name it. He was not just a squeaky wheel, he was a squeaky train and almost none of it had merit but they paid him off and promoted him to get him to shut up.

I agree, and the media drives me nuts because of it. People see the bias but do not care because it is a story written for them. Combine this with the curated news they (all of us) are exposed to daily on our ‘dumb phones,’ and we have nothing but prejudice.

Yes. countless times. It’s now Asian, although the turks are still quite strong in Sunnyside. I worked in Manhattan for 5 years much of it was as a roving technician that got me out to every borough.
