Just seen this on Facebook marketplace. *(pretty sure the guy used it for growing fish) looks like some solid cracks in the block work.
I could be wrong but the weight of the water in the above grade pool won’t help if the slab sinks.
The 10’s of dollars they saved in growing their own fish isn’t going to pay for the 1000’s needed for mold remediation.
I think he grew huge bass in there.
he did run a dehumidifier but don’t think thats really doing much with that amount of water in there..
Hypothese: They grow big base. Place them in a hidden cage on the lake, marked by GPS, 3 days before a tournament, and pretend they caught the monster live to win a prize.
Or to practice tuning top and sinking bait.
Seeing what new baits work with live base.
Just my opinion from someone that was an avid fresh water sport fishermen.
The money circumvents the cost of the setup. The one in the image is cheap. Well Under $1,000.00 dollars. Top prizes are easily in the tens or worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Boats, Cruzes, Full expense paid trips to other fishing tournaments all over the US.
Huge money in fishing. Good money in gear as well.
I won thousands of dollars in Musky plugs.
solid points. , but they wouldn’t place them in a hidden cage in the lake.. they would place them in a hidden livewell in there boat *(thats how the pros do it … lol )
You can not hide a live well. Organizers go over your boat. Everyone keeps an eye on your boat.
Keep 5 or 6, 8 pound plus base takes up a large area. My live well was 54" in length 14" inches deep.
Kept in cages just under the water. The boat pulls up beside the cage on a area that does not hold bass. No bass fishermen are nearby.
Some tournaments, a non fisher watches you the whole day in your boat to make sure you do not cheat.
