I apologized to George and removed my posts from his thread. So really your the one that keeps bring George up, not me.
Tell me more about AAA. Nick they only HELP you and they HURT us. To me they are the scum of the scum who will exploit NACHI and its name.
I will not stop the crap, if you want me to stop. Man, up and kick me out. Its your organization.
I will not stop ‘attacking’ any entity that sheds a poor light on my profession. Nick we are in two different worlds. Mine is HOME INSPECTOR, yours is to create as many home inspectors as humanly possible. See a conflict there? Pretty easy to see.
How is AAA harming you by working with InterNACHI? Would you prefer they don’t require InterNACHI’s courses? Would you prefer they teach from a weaker curriculum? Would you prefer they don’t require an additional 40 hours of hands-on, in-field training on actual homes they arranged for our students? Would you prefer they use a program your state doesn’t approve of? Would you prefer that they don’t fly to Boulder, Colorado to get our help? How are they harming you by working with InterNACHI?
If you point to either something in the past (like when YOUR state permitted grandfathering) or if you point to some other vendor (I’m on to your attack one vendor with something another vendor did so they can’t defend themselves game)… I’m not going to reply.
Then don’t reply. I never asked you to. Your a big boy do as you like.
I would prefer you not to use people who belittle our profession and use MEMBERS to teach this class. Inspectors helping Inspectors. Thats my view. Can the class not be given in a seperate state like Florida? Can the class not be three 13.3 days so INSPECTORS who actually inspect can take time off to get the class? Maybe a Friday Saturday, Sunday?
See Nick you look at things through the eyes of people making money FROM US, just like you do. Try and look at it from a person who is trying to make it in this industry and doesn’t have a week to give up and if they did, I am sure many of their wives would want it spent with family time.
I have a decent sized shop here, you could use it. I don’t know how much room you would need. Send whatever down, send me a lsit of what we need to get the class going. Have it here, charge the guys and spend 3 -13 hour days teaching it to get people certified.
You look at life through your rose colored glasses. Man there are people who are trying to get bills paid. You have not had that sensation for a long time and maybe forgot what its like to be hurting for money. Maybe you never knew this. I have and it sucked and if I can help those who want help, I will do it.
Instead of looking at things they way they are, look at how they could be and try diversifying to get people the help they need. Stop catering to people who can travel, takes weeks off and think of ways to help the average Joe diversify to make some extra money.
Nick that is not how they harmed us. Please refer to the 100 other threads I have written about AAA schools. Defend them all you want. I love it when other inspectors see your responses. They see now how little you really want to help them. Thanks, I love it when you prove my points.
Gee Russ why don’t you copme up here and do it. Well Nick, I am presently an owner of a company that actually does work and to take 9 days out of my schedule to come there and take your class is just not doable.
So you response is deal with it. So in another words, for those of us working. SCREW YOU. Nice Nick…please keep posting.
I gave an alternative that well, doesn’t fit your world. Instead of trying to meet in the middle to help average inspectors and compromise its screw then and give the work organizations instead of actual inspectors.
Post away buddy…the more you post the better I look
I seen in a previous thread you mention 40 hours of hands on training. So that is where I got that from.
I never said I was too busy to take the training I said I was too busy for 9 days taken out of my schedule for training. Believe it or not Nick many inspectors work 16 hours a day at this. So a 13 hour class room day would actually be a break.
If its only ONE day then it should be a no brainer! When and where do you want me to set the class up? We can get people together and get them the class at a minimum fee if any! Now you talking Nick. Thats taking care of your members! That getting your people certified to make so extra money!
And the AAA schools going up there TWICE to get certified to provide me a class is another slap in the face. Thanks for using my membership money and the resources inspectors have built to train a school to provide inspectors to be my competition. Thats AWESOME!
Stop s(h)itting on my brothers I will stop pissing on your parade.
Damnit Tom is it that obvious? I am using reverse Psychology though. In my attempt to “stifle” competition here are the steps I have taken.
Anyone outside of my service area is welcome to come to my company and see how we operate our inspection company.
Well now your gonna say it is only available to those who can afford it: Well just a few months ago a young man down on his luck was eager to learn and asked if he could come to the office and ride along for a couple of days. Well, listening to his story I ended up paying for his room and meals while he was here. So he can learn what has taken me 12 years to accomplish and thousands of dollars on stuff to do and stuff not to do.
What about new people needing stuff? I have never taken a gift from NACHI and everything I have ever gotten has been passed on to a new inspector eager to learn.
Donated money on several occasions to various NACHI programs.
Drove five hours to Gainesville to give a class to OTHER INSPECTORS on how to properly perform mold testing, how to read the results and what to look for in a lab. I paid for my hotel, Meals, fuel ( my car eats the Gas) 5 hours each way to spread my knowledge for the high cost of FREE.
I answer about 10 questions a week from insepctors, offered to LOAN people radon machines, mold machines and even a local inspector may have needed my employees for a large job in which I said no problem without even knowing the money I was to receive.
So in about the last 6 months about $5000 has come out of my pocket to help my inspection brothers asking nothing in return. How is that for “stifling” my competition.
But then again, maybe…just maybe I want to improve the public image, ask people to improve their product and try and arm them with knowledge to better serve the client FOR FREE, so that we can all make what our profession is worth. Which to me we should get at least $750 to START with.
Every thread, arguement has these items at heart.
Flood the market with affordable labor? You see what we do as labor? Well we are worlds apart there. I see this as a profession and with the exposur we have and what it takes to become proficient, its not LABOR its professionalism.
Have you ever talked to Russell’s better half? I have a deep admiration for Russell after talking with her. She likes to argue more than talking things out rationally.
John S. - I talked with your boss today and I was looking at late next week coming down…well me, Matt, Greg and Adam to do some wind mitigations with you. I always seem to learn something and the more eyes the better.
I thank-you for giving your time so freely. People will one day realize I just want our profession to resemble professionalism.
