Posts in crawlspace

This house is about 11 years old. Everything seems stable. But in the crawlspace there are 4x6 pressure treated posts supporting the beams. The posts are sitting on horizontal pieces of 2x6 treated sitting on the concrete footers. There aren’t any fasteners securing the beams to the posts, the posts to the 2x6’s, or the 2x6’s to the footer. Should the beams be fastened to the posts and the posts fastened directly to the footer with nothing between the footer and the post?

“Footer” - a piece of text, such as a page number or a title, that appears at the bottom of every page of a document or book.

“Footing” - an important part of foundation construction. They are typically made of concrete with rebar reinforcement that has been poured into an excavated trench.
