I wish I had a picture of the worst I found. It was a 6 foot long garden timber-- the rounded edge kind they sell at the big orange for $2.99 which was holding up (barely) the main beam in a 90 year old house. The timber was so bowed that all it needed was a string and you could have used it to shoot an arrow icon_eek.gif

Who needs a support post when you can just wrap a metal strapping around the beam and nail it to the floor joist above it. I’ll hold.

This is a triple 2x12 main load bearing beam that was replacing an infested beam, but strapped into place.![](upload://76W5ki8PdQbWSfITkgj2VftQLbi.gif)

I post once in a while, and admit look forward to hearing peoples opinions. But I’m some what new to this biz therefore I’m apprehensive about posting. But I agree with you, communication is such a wonderful teaching tool. I will not eusa_silenced.gif keep my mouth shut for now on.

This is for all the NACHI members who do not choose to contribute to your board . Shame on you!!!!!! There are a few dedicated folks giving info to the masses. I think every member that uses this board should have something to say.

Speak up it will only make us stronger!

Do not worry Russel and Jerry are relatively harmless
Please contribute. . Post!
Stop reading and post something; anything . So many members and only 30 of us post regular makes me want to join ASH NOT !!Just kidding!

I know there are many ,many members who read and do not post. I think this is a disservice to the membership. We need your input. I look forward to hearing from you as does everyone.

I would post more often but I'm afraid people will get me confused with the other Todd. ![icon_rolleyes.gif](upload://iqxt7ABYC2TEBomNkCmZARIrQr6.gif) By the way I see that you have two first names also, has anyone ever gotten YOUR name backwards?
