Good information to know.

I'm thinking Roofing will be the topic for next week.

Wow, it’s a pretty close vote. Now I’m second guessing my answer.

Great flick! However, it does not address the question!!

Now instead of giving the answer away, --- oh never mind. ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

The correct answer for yesterday’s QOD is d. This has been the closest vote that I have seen. The reference is IRC R502.8. Now, there MAY have been some confusion in the question. The question was specific to floor joists, which was the way that everyone that I talked to took it. The 1/3 Notching applies ONLY to Rafter/Ceiling Joists.

The correct answer is that a floor joist on an end cut can be notched no more than 1/4.
