QOD for 3/16/2006

Hi to all,

Here’s todays question

Regards

Gerry

Gerry -

Didn’t they teach reduction to lowest common denominator in England when you were in grade school?

Joe

P. S. Stateside, a low pitch is one that is below the knees.

Gerry

Is not this sort of an opinion?? ESP when the right answer is not there

rlb

Joe,

yes they did, unfortunately they did not teach it to framing carpenters over here. When I moved over here a decade ago I had to learn all this weird stuff like pitch, we use degrees or % from vertical

Regards

Gerry

I’ve always believed Gerry to be a fast learner…when he arrived on our shores, he quickly deduced that driving on the left side of the road would result in his re-orientation to 90 degrees from vertical, and 6’ sub-grade.

Wow, The answers are varied here.

Hi to all,

the correct answer is 4:12 pitch

by way of explaination, it is generaly accepted that

  • below 2:12 is a flat roof
  • 2:12 to 4:12 is a low roof
  • 4:12 and above is a conventional pitch roof

Regards

Gerry

so if 2:12 to 4:12 is low, then B is also correct, because 2:12 is below 3:12… right? …O.K. can i get half credit?
