Question about door at top of stairs

That’s great as long as there aren’t 100 disclaimers on the device’s package that would still leave you with exposure.

Personally, I don’t need one. When I open a bifold, I am standing still, not like a door where you walk out at the same time you open it. I don’t think you will see that in the Building Codes anytime soon.

And any idiot that wants to lean against a door, wether over stairs or not, deserves to fall through or get knocked on his face. :wink:

Marcel, I get you point. I am not sure that I would want to see that narrative in my report though…emoticons or not.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

I just think something like that should be called out as a potential safety issue.

Hell, that could be one of the most honest narratives out there.

Mine has bee like that for twenty years, raised to kids, and two grandkids till age 2 and never had a problem, if you don’t want it to open by accident, lock it.

Marcel I can’t believe you’d add one of these but leave out the safety nets for the upper cabinets… just reckless i think…

:mrgreen:Well that one was only $3.49

it is a tough economy Sir…

That one’s too expensive too! Never bought on, never use the door.

Tough Economy more than one way Jim. Hard for all right now.

How was your day?

There is a limit to my regulation of common sense.

Just had a regular swing in with no landing over the weekend and it is fairly common.

alls good Marcel…nothing to complain about…

well I’m going to take that back Marcel …I just got off the phone with a pleasant young Lady representing a company that wanted to hire me to inspect an apartment complex an hour away from my home…detailed report including cost for repair estimates and detailed narrated photos and they were willing to pay me 120.00 if I was a shrewd negotiator…otherwise She assured me the "going rate " was much less…
well at least i don’t have Her job…

Is the value of a good Home Inspection going down the drain Jim. That is ridiculous.

I first got a call from Her a couple weeks ago Marcel and today she was wondering if I had read the proposal and thought about it…I’m pretty sure companies like that are not really interested in competent inspections, rather just a way to defer liability from themselves…sad thing is She may just find someone to do that job…it is a sad comentary on the industry as a whole

I’ll bet this woman has netting on her cabinets too!

I pity the one stuck with the Liability when something goes wrong.
Just like a set of tires, eventually, something will go wrong.

I think that was some comparison to something else but seems to work here.

And I would tell her that she could kiss my Rosie rear end!

That’s total crap!

She prolly thought i was Santa Claus I was laughing so hard…

Did she have a door that opens over the stairs?:wink:

sorry Marcel I was laughing so hard I forgot to ask Her…if She calls back though I’ll bring it up quick before she gets me laughing…

Worth repeating;)!

Cheers,
