Interesting!! Learned something else today. Marc, can soil under slabs be treated post construction (under slab treatment for older homes)?

Formosans, like any creature, need water.
Like drywood termites they have the ability to get it from moisture in the wood.
They do not require earth/soil contact for the moisture like subterraneans do.
They also may create a “nest” above ground. It’s a bunch of soil, chewed up wood with moisture (poo) in it. Carton material.
Colonies, depending on age, can be 4 - 10 million individuals.
This is the only form of pure communism that works… … …

If you tent fumigate, you will eliminate everything above ground (except some lizards who do not take in enough fumigant). Take the tent off & up from the ground they come again.
It’s good for termite firms 'cause now you have to do both tent & sol treatment.

Yes. It depends if the foundation is monolithic or a floating slab on the method.
Lotta trenching & drilling.
Florida state law requires a soil treatment before the cement is poured.
That’s why we call it a pre-treat.
Bldg code 1816.1
