I’m no 1/2 log siding expert but shouldn’t this flashing for the exhaust vent be behind the siding?

I would think so. The siding would get rotted because the water can’t easily evaporate if it gets stuck behind.

Sorry…for some reason I concentrated my lens on the wasps nest.
It’s 1/2 log siding. the top flashing is just resting on the outermost portion of the log. Didn’t appear caulked.

The tube itself should be embedded in the log with a screen on the other side.
Caulking should be placed around is the tiubing on the inside to prevent any
exhaust from seeping into the living area. Caulking should be able to withstand the tempertures exiting the vent . This is how I have seen them done .I have seen a few of them and that is how they look. s that a wasp
nest inside the living area?
