If this trend keeps up, InterNACHI will just buy one and make it free for members.
My wife and I have totally separate garages. She’s only been in mine twice. Once when there was smoke, and once when there was blood. If there isn’t smoke or blood, she can’t come in.
Nick, that would be really great. But you’ve been saying this for about 10 years now
InterNACHI is really good at innovating new stuff. But if we buy software, we could actually harm innovation because it would deter other developers from investing in the space. And that would harm our industry.
It already happened in education ever since we built the House of Horrors facilities and then became the only University in the inspection industry. New schools can’t compete and so never open. And the existing ones all sold out to private equity including ITA, AHIT, ICA, etc.
Look, there is some other Nick Gromicko out there working in his garage right now. We want him to launch his products and services. It’s good for the industry. We could actually use a second national inspections association. It’s not good that we are the only one.
I guess its going to be a wait and see aporoach. I’ve been with HG for over 20 years.
I personally do not like spectoras vibe in terms of the report it produces. But I can respect those that do. I’m not into the flash. I like meat and potatoes.
The inspection industry is sorely missing a good quality report software tailored for commercial applications. Dale Duffy and I griped about this for years. Keith Swift was working on new report software and it never came to pass as he passed away. It looked promising. I know commercial is a small porce of the pie. Perhaps since CCPIA is growing more a developer will take notice. If anyone is ever interested in a collaboration for software for ASTM or CCPIA, shoot me a PM or call me.
FWIW, those please higher ups monitoring the forum, please
do not take away my desktop software or make it obsolete.
Ray, let me know if I can help. We desperately need more commercial property inspection software.
We do, I agree and I definitely will. Maybe this will springboard something. I’ve been waiting 15 years or so. Every year or so we try to research the inspection software market and see if anything has come to market. I think inspection software for commercial purposes is viable and would be worth putting resources into development!
