I was looking for some other tool(s) and thought about what Larry said about camera deals so looked through the cases. No cameras but got a great deal on a Protimeter Surveymaster. The guy behind the counter had no idea what it was. 
Saw this at Mt. Vernon on a recent vacation. It was all I could do to keep myself from pulling on the test to see if the mastic failed and it if was being held on with the tape.
Just needs more duct tape!
Do they really need a gauge? Just fix the thing! 
There is a huge renovation already taking place on the mansion and a few of the outbuildings. This structure is along the shore of the Potomac River. I’m not sure if they are trying to figure out if there is more than just the structure needing address.
Hey now, that gauge cost $48,000, and the gauge master payroll is $19k/week. This is important work in progress… Let them do their job.

When I was there in 2018, they were renovating. Apparently renovations there are a works project. It’s a permanent job for certain folks.
The tour of the mansion is limited to only one room. The home is currently jacked up for what I assume is foundation work.
For sure! Yesterday we had 35 mph sustained winds and gusts as high as 70 mph. Numerous fires breaking out just to the west of where I live.
Not mine, but pretty cool.
Couple of helpers from yesterday’s inspection, and yes the smaller one was literally an ankle biter when she wanted you to play with her.
