Very very good reads, I was actually impressed on the knowledge being dispensed on a very touchy subject matter MOLD in todays building construction.

However, on the assessments, collections and remediation along with any ‘fix’, if you’re in a state that requires it (like FL), YOU must be licensed to perform assessments, remediation and/or the ‘fix’ or suggesting what the fix should be. Just having the Home Inspectors license in FL is not enough authority to make an opinion or statement on mold contaminations, especially when a legal battle begins, and believe me when I say battle. I’ve been involved in many of a deposition where a licensed home inspector took samples and raised red flags, causing un-due concerns or not having enough proper data on the contaminations suspected that caused the owner to become active in a law-suit (or 558’s) against a builder. I’m not saying here that all the time its like this, or there is not some sort of justification to perform these tests. Its when this sort of thing is brought up to a homeowner to have these tests done because of a suspicion on construction, you better do your homework, before you write a report or make comments on the construction, especially in the states that require certifications and licensing…or you might get humbled in a ‘legal battle’, or sued yourself.
