I’d consider it a planter and or garden wall. Most areas don’t require and or consider “retaining” an issue below 30" in height and or a pressure load of less than 200 pounds per lineal foot. icon_idea.gif

Hard to tell, but it doesn’t seem to be “retaining” anything.


The lawn appears to slope downward with rock garden wall,

leaving little, if anything, behind the terra cotta wall.

If this was in the Northern part of the Country, this miniature brick soldier course (retainer) would look pretty for about the day it was built. The following season, it would be a disposal item.

looks purely cosmetic to me. if you were to take all the bricks out, i dought any earth would collaps or even pose anything more than a walking hazard, but it is already. it’s not on a walk way, so i’d say it’s fine. icon_cool.gif
