This was inline on the supply side of the water for a Rheem Hydronic Heater. Not sure what it is. Thought I had a closer picture with the data information on it, but can’t find it
It looks like a pressure regulator. Probably make up water for some appliance.

Did you look up the information on the data plate which is physically located on the device in question?

It’s a feeder, they come in different models.
If you don’t know what it is snap a picture of the data plate and look it up online - then read the manual to better understand something new that you ain’t never seen before instead of having Junior or Bert look it up for you.
