Sounds like ASHI has been hard at work up there in RI.

It is my understanding that even though RI has had licensing since 2001

the State did not have the money to implement it, so you need nothing at this time to do home inspections.

If I am wrong in this thinking, please let me know.

I read this thing twice. Where is there an ASHI requirement? Am I missing something? It looks like a good law.

That law looks fair and reasonable. I think E&0 is a point of conflict, but if that law were passed in my state I wouldn’t fight it too hard.

E & O is an issue, and how do you perform 100 fee paid inspections if you aren’t licensed? Have to be an associate inspector for one year! Sounds like more mentoring. If so, I would fight it.

Gerry: We just hired an investigator who will be working on this program. A meting of the Boards sub-committee is schedule in the AM Thursday 1/15/2004 and hopefully this will start the ball rolling to get a public hearing scheduled. Will update our web site as soon as more information is available.

I will keep a check on their progress and update this string as needed.

regards

Gerry
