Roof item description needed

I can’t answer my calls when I’m doing a commercial electrical infrared inspection. So I was missing lots of work. I just charge more and sell more radon inspections to cover the cost of someone to answer the phone. And they don’t haggle for a cheaper price. You can reach me directly on my IR number if needed.

Yeah I am sure it helps to have it answered but like in my case needed direct.
No idea if the guy was in India or sitting at your desk.

Client cancelled out as I tried a few in the area but everyone was busy.

Is that on a rake? Looks like some type of gutter fabricated from… well whatever they could find.

Nonetheless, it’s negatively pitched back towards deck and away from gutter. Amateur installation needs repair.

I agree.
It surrounded the perimeter of the entire flat roof system.

Sometimes these designs make no sense.

Break Flashing

I will look that up Roy.

THAT clad 2x4" IS NOT PART OF THE ROOF.

OBSERVATION: The roof is a combination flat and saltbox. The membrane appears to be TPO. Thermoplastic Polyolefin Overlay.
The seams are hot welded.
SUSPECT. In proper roof drip flashing and assorted roof flashing.

Gees Louise bob you can spend a day writing up that roof and envelope.
Treat it like any other defective roof.

SUSPECT: The roof membrane appears to be amateur in thought and application.
List several defects and move on.
RECOMMEND: A licensed roofer evaluate the condition.

As for the exterior envelope.
OBSERVATION: A molding of 2x4" inch wood has been clad in metal and surrounds the circumference of the envelope. Just below the roof deck.
It appears to be in the position of the past eave troughs.
SUSPECT: Amateur handyman envelope repair of the rotted wood behind the once installed eave-troughs.
RECOMMEND: A licensed carpenter evaluate the condition.

I would have been on that with a moisture meter and my IR Bob.

I was thinking TPO as well however that white seems painted on.
Yes the roof portion took some time and I listed many examples as you did not hear about the roof material wrap, water intrusion, lack of cricket, brick cracking, gutter debris, missing roof wall flashing and wood siding on roof not to mention the attached shed roofs with no felt ,drip edge and openings.

Your the king mate.
I would expect nothing less.
All the best Bob as always.

Hope that helps.

Will check the link later.
Only ran into the Goodyear TPO a long time ago.
The stuff was bouncy like a trampoline however.(oh forgot the air gap between the material and sheathing)

Looks like a yankee gutter to me.

Thanks Les
You may be on to something.
Damn do we ever stop learning around here.
