Check out these lifting shingles. Does anyone have an opinion as to why the fasteners are raised up? I have 2 First would be ice, second would be heat.
At your elevation of 6500 ft, I would assume it to be from Ice Damming contributed from high winds during non-winter months.

Yes I agree and refer it to as pull-out of the fasteners. Here is a very good article by Internachi on Fasteners that you can pass on to your clients.
