My son(5) plugged a power strip into itself. He was happy with himself, but not after my lecture about obeying the Laws of Thermodynamics!

I’ll bet someone rigged it up to disable the doorbell for day sleeping.

Why not just buy an octagon plate with a snap switch. It is cheaper than that cord receptacle.

So-----unplugging the little loop turned the furnace off (directly below). Odder than the loop itself was the perfectly functional switch on the side of the furnace.:smiley:

I thought they might be storing the current in a super conducting loop. You know, like a flywheel.
