so, don’t hand dig and waterproof this and remove clay and roots off wall and instead install an interior drainage system or an exterior french drain with your lil drain tiles aka weepers lol
one area of back wall was previously done BUT they didn’t use hydraulic cement and they backfilled with all same crap soil and next time try hard to bring the tar UP to grade or lil above to cover the rest of crack etc
