Sealing the base of a toilet

I have never called it either way, but does anyone have an opinion on whether it is good or bad to seal the outer perimeter base of a toilet at the floor. It seems to me like caulking around the base of toilet may actually trap moisture and/or conceal a leak at the wax seal.

Yes it does. One trick is to leave a small gap in the back.

It sure makes it easier to clean the floor especially when you stand up to pee. I keep telling the wife to sit down  .

Just kidding, really hun I was just kidding…ouch…

Mark is correct , as this has been discussed before.

I found the previous thread. I have been a member for a little over a year, but just got active on the board recently.

Thanks for the info.
