Are these SECs undersized? Labeling on the two hot SEC’s is 2x1/0 + 2 AWG. Never seen them labeled like that.
#1/0 aluminum is too small for 200 amps. #4/0 would be the minimum size required. The #2 is size of the neutral conductor.
Thanks Robert. Ok so 2x1/0+2AWG simply means two 1/0 hot SECs and a #2 AWG neutral SEC.
The home is 2006 and the panel looked new. So simply put, do you think the electrician installed a new 200 AMP Panel and didn’t increase the SEC wiring size? The panel looked brand new
Yes its possible that they installed a new panel with the old service conductors. And yes 2x#1/0+2 AWG means what you’ve stated. I’m surprised because those conductors look rather new too.
10-4 and thanks for the input. The SEC’s did look new so it surprised me too.
Maybe it’s possible the electrician cleaned them or simply installed the wrong wiring.
